Things to Do
TASTING ROOMS AND BREWERIES IN THE FUNK ZONE
Many of the local wineries and breweries have opened tasting rooms in the Funk Zone in a section of downtown Santa Barbara. We recommend Santa Barbara Wine Collective, Les Marchands (great Brunch) and figueroa mountain brewing co. A few more spots - Municipal Winemakers, and Topa Topa. Just start walking and see if you can find the special rosé!
Other Lunch spots Include:
Lucky Penny - great salads, sandwiches, and pizza's
Metropulos
Shalhoob - Try their tri tip steak sandwiches
WINE TASTING IN SANTA YNEZ / SOLVANG
Just outside of Santa Barbara, wine tasting in Santa Ynez and Solvang is a great activity for wine lovers. We like the Rusack, Gainey, and Sunstone wineries and recommend local restaurants Santa Ynez Kitchen and Industrial Eats.
HIKING
There are tons of great hikes in and around Montecito. We love to walk through the San Ysidro Ranch and hike the San Ysidro trail directly next to and behind the property. Great views of the city and the Pacific. (waiting to hear if these trails are open yet…stay tuned!)
Inspiration Point is a relatively easy hike that is located close to the weekend activities and gives you sweeping views of Santa Barbara when you get to the top!
SANTA BARBARA ADVENTURE COMPANY
Whether you're looking to surf, stand up paddle, kayak, bike or more, the Santa Barbara Adventure Company has all of the rentals and experiences you could need!
DOWNTOWN SANTA BARBARA
Start at the wharf at the bottom of State Street and work your way up for window shopping.
Don't miss McConnell's Ice Cream, our favorite local ice cream spot. If you’re craving a brat and a beer head to Hoffmann Brat Haus on state street!
The Blue Door is a must if you’re looking for a fun and special antique TRINKET (4 E. Yanonali St.)
SANTA BARBARA BEACHES
There are a range of beaches close to our wedding venue! East Beach has volleyball courts, Arroyo Beach also known as Dog Beach, West Beach where you can rent kayaks, or Butterfly Beach, the iconic stretch of coastline located in front of the Four Seasons Biltmore.
BIKE RENTALS
No trip is complete without a bike ride (or two or three). Cycling is a great way to get a feel for Santa Barbara and it is an extremely “bike-able” town for all levels. There are flat bike paths/lanes along the beach and in the downtown area. Modest hills if you head up toward the Santa Barbara mission or Montecito. You haven’t done santa Barbara without renting a “Surrey Bike.”
